Chocolate Butterscotch Acorns for your Squirrely Friends

These yummy chocolate butterscotch acorns make a cute gift, are delicious, and so easy to make!

Chocolate Butterscotch Acorns

Ingredients

Chocolate Hershey’s Kisses

Butterscotch chips

Mini Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Meringue Powder

Icing:  Stir together, 1 cup plus two tablespoons of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of water, and 1 1/2 tsp of meringue powder. Beat with an electric mixer until spreadable.  Add additional water in small amounts until desired consistency.

Directions:  Prepare icing in a bowl.  Remove wrappers from chocolate.  Place wafers on a tray with the flat side up.

With a knife spread a small amount of icing on the flat side of the water.

Put a dab of icing on the other side and place the butterscotch chip on top to finish the acorn.

Fall Treats

And, that’s all there is to it!  Next, we upcycled an old scarecrow and attached it to an olive jar with some fall leaves.  Then placed acorns in the jar for a cute gift.  Another option is to fill plastic baggies or recycle small tubs by attaching leaves and cute sayings.   No matter how they are delivered, chocolate butterscotch acorns make for fun and delicious squirrely treats.
